Fall has officially arrived at Rumble Gumption Junction, and that means it was finally time to dig the fall decorations out of storage and bring a little autumn coziness back home.
From wreaths on the front and back doors to pumpkins, pinecones, acorns, fall foliage and little seasonal characters tucked into our mantels and tables, I love watching the farmhouse slowly transform.
And, of course, no fall decorating is complete without a little candlelight. This year I’m trying something new with rechargeable candles, pillars, tapers and tea lights that can be used throughout the season. Hopefully, that means a little less candle shopping and a whole lot of cozy glow!
Come along as I unpack, decorate, add the finishing touches and turn everything on for the evening.
Welcome to fall at RGJ. 🍁

Prepare:
1. Bring Out the Fall Decorations
The first step is always the same—digging through the boxes and crates that have been waiting in storage all year.
Once everything was back at the house, it was time to see what I had to work with.
2. Start With the Doors
Fall wreaths went up on both the front and back doors to give the house its first little dose of autumn.
3. Decorate the Kitchen Mantel
The kitchen mantel got a classic fall touch with a little red truck loaded down with pumpkins.
I added more seasonal pieces and foliage around it until the display felt complete.
4. Add Fall to the Guest Bedroom
For the guest bedroom mantel, I used tall silver candlesticks surrounded by faux fall foliage for a little height and seasonal color.
5. Bring Fall Into the Entryway
A fall sign went up at the inside entryway, followed by smaller seasonal touches throughout the surrounding areas.
6. Build the Mantel Displays
Small pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, fall animals and candle holders were layered onto the mantels to create little collections rather than one large centerpiece.
7. Repeat the Look on Smaller Tables
The same fall elements were used on smaller tables around the front entryway, just scaled down to fit the spaces.
8. Add the Finishing Touches
Once everything was in place, I went back to the kitchen mantel for the final additions and a little rearranging until everything felt just right.
9. Charge the Candles
This year I’m trying rechargeable candles throughout the house.
I have rechargeable pillars, taper-style candles and tea lights, and I’m hoping using them throughout the holiday season will help cut down on how many traditional candles I need to purchase.
10. Light Everything Up
Once the candles were charged and placed in their holders, it was time to turn on the cozy.
Using the remote, I switched on the rechargeable candles throughout the house and added the glow of a real Bath & Body Works 3-wick candle for good measure and plugged in the wallflowers to set the scent in the background.
11. Enjoy the Fall Glow
And finally, the best part—seeing everything lit up in the evening.
Pumpkins, foliage, candlelight and little fall details all came together to give the house that warm, cozy feeling that makes this time of year so special.

Notes from the Farmhouse:
There is something about decorating for fall that makes the whole house feel different.
It doesn’t have to mean completely redecorating every room. A wreath here, a few pumpkins there, some foliage, pinecones and candlelight can completely change the feeling of a space.
And I’m especially excited to see how these rechargeable candles work throughout the season. If they hold up well, they may become one of my favorite little holiday decorating hacks.
For me, fall decorating isn’t about making everything perfect. It’s about making home feel warm, comfortable and ready for the season.
And after all the work of getting everything out and putting it all together…
It's fall at RGJ. 🍂
