This one comes straight from a Southern cookbook, and it’s a little different than what you might expect from a traditional beef stroganoff. It leans on simple pantry ingredients and comes together in one skillet for an easy, comforting meal. Classic, hearty, and perfect over a bowl of noodles.

Ingredients:
• 2 lbs round steak
• 4 tbsp butter
• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
• 1 can French onion soup
• 1 cup sour cream
• 6 tbsp flour
• ⅔ cup water
• 1 tsp seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder)
• Egg noodles

• Cast iron skillet
• Pot (for noodles)
• Knife & cutting board
• Mixing bowl

Prepare:
1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Set aside.
2. Mix flour and water in a bowl and set aside.
3. Season steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
4. Melt butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.
5. Cook steak until browned on both sides. Remove and slice into strips.
6. In the same skillet, add cream of mushroom soup, French onion soup, and one can of water.
7. Stir in flour mixture and cook until thickened.
8. Return steak to skillet and simmer.
9. Stir in sour cream until smooth and creamy.
10. Serve over noodles.
