This homemade mocha latte is rich, simple, and feels like a cozy coffee shop moment right at home. Warm chocolate, strong coffee, and just the right touch of sweetness — an easy little indulgence.

Ingredients (1 large mug):

• 1 cup milk (whole is best; oat milk is excellent too)

• 1–2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder (high quality makes a BIG difference)

• 1–2 tsp sugar or maple syrup (to taste)

• ½ tsp vanilla extract

• ½ cup strong coffee or 1–2 shots espresso

• Optional: tiny pinch of salt (trust me)

Tools from the Kitchen:

  • Coffee Mug

  • Small pot

  • Liquid measuring cup

  • Measuring spoons

  • Frother

Prepare:

Stovetop Method (best flavor)

1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk

2. When milk is warm, add

• cocoa powder

• sugar

• pinch of salt

3. Froth with a handheld frother or whisk constantly until cocoa is fully dissolved. Milk should be hot, but not boiling

4. Remove from heat and stir in:

• vanilla extract

5. Pour the chocolate milk mixture into your mug.

6. Pour hot coffee or espresso into your mug.

Sip and Enjoy!

Notes from the Kitchen:

Finish It Like a Pro

• Dust of cocoa powder or cinnamon on top

• Optional drizzle of chocolate syrup

• Or a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream for snow-day indulgence

Extra Cozy Variations

Farmhouse Mocha

• Use maple syrup instead of sugar

• Add a dash of cinnamon

Dark Chocolate Mocha

• Use 1 tsp cocoa + ½ oz chopped dark chocolate

Iced Mocha Latte

• Make chocolate milk first

• Let cool, pour over ice, add cold brew
