This homemade mocha latte is rich, simple, and feels like a cozy coffee shop moment right at home. Warm chocolate, strong coffee, and just the right touch of sweetness — an easy little indulgence.
Ingredients (1 large mug):
• 1 cup milk (whole is best; oat milk is excellent too)
• 1–2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder (high quality makes a BIG difference)
• 1–2 tsp sugar or maple syrup (to taste)
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup strong coffee or 1–2 shots espresso
• Optional: tiny pinch of salt (trust me)
Tools from the Kitchen:
Coffee Mug
Small pot
Liquid measuring cup
Measuring spoons
⸻
Prepare:
Stovetop Method (best flavor)
1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk
2. When milk is warm, add
• cocoa powder
• sugar
• pinch of salt
3. Froth with a handheld frother or whisk constantly until cocoa is fully dissolved. Milk should be hot, but not boiling
4. Remove from heat and stir in:
• vanilla extract
5. Pour the chocolate milk mixture into your mug.
6. Pour hot coffee or espresso into your mug.
Sip and Enjoy!
